The Waukee Vocal Music Department strives to provide a comprehensive musical education for its students. The show choir program has earned a reputation of excellence, consistently earning top honors at festivals and competitions. There are five show choirs for students grades 7-12.
Millennium is the varsity show choir made up of singers, instrumentalists, and crew members from grades 10-12 that started in the fall of 1999. This ensemble is proud to be part of the strong vocal program of Waukee Schools. Millennium has been very successful over the years earning several Grand Champion placements at competitions around the Midwest. Millennium has also earned several Caption Awards including: Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design, Best Costuming, Best Sportsmanship, Best Male Soloist, Best Female Soloist, Best Male Performer in a Show, and Best Band. Millennium is under the direction of Jeff Knutson and choreographed by Jarad Voss and Tori Brindis.
Spirit is comprised of students in grades 10-12 and competes in the prep class at competitions across the Midwest where they have been fortunate to receive many awards and honors in recent years—including Outstanding Male and Female Soloists; Best Choreography, Prep Division; Best Vocals, Prep Division; First Place in Prep Division. Spirit is proud to be a part of the award-winning, comprehensive vocal music program at Waukee High School. Spirit is under the direction of Tony Dam and is choreographed by Tori Brindis and Jarad Voss.
Inferno is the 9th grade show choir at Timberline. Inferno competes in the 9th grade and Prep divisions at competitions across the state of Iowa where they have been fortunate enough to receive top awards. Inferno is directed by Katie Sullivan and choreographed by Tori Brindis.
The Waukee Vocal Music Department also offers show choir show for those students in grades 7-9. Students in grade 7 may perform in South Middle School’s Spark show choir, under the direction of Jenn Ghelf and choreographed by Anne Chapman. Students in grade 8 at Timberline may audition to be a member of En Fuego under the direction of Brent Peterson, choreographed by Anne Chapman and Tori Brindis.
